This document illustrates how to get started with the Apple Developer Program, necessary for those who want to build and distribute apps; for a closed group of testers as well as everyone in the App Store.
Creating Apple ID
Choosing a Membership
The next step is to decide if the account will be for individual or organization use. There are several differences between them that should be taken into account before making a choice. Apple shows a brief comparison here.
Important differences, that are not shown in the link are:
- The individual account only allows one user. In circumstances where a different person will perform the deploys (Wolox members), or new test users need to be added to the app, they will all have to share the same credentials, which means, Wolox team must know the username and password to operate. The organization account allows different users and roles, so in this case, if different people need to perform different actions, they can be invited to the team, each one with its own account and credentials.
- The individual account can be obtained almost with no delay. Apple takes just some hours to validate the information and enable the account. The organization account creation is a bit more bureaucratic. The requirements can be examined here.
Enrollment
After the Enrollment
Probably, you might want Wolox to handle the apps for you while we are working together. For that Wolox needs permission in your team for that. Follow the next section to give Wolox the capabilities needed.
Wolox Access to Portals
This document explains how, once the user has created its account in the Apple Developer Program (as explained in this document), Wolox is given access to operate it, making the necessary configurations to be able to have productive applications in the AppStore.
NOTE: Note that this applies only in the case when the user has created an organization-type account. If the account type is individual, the only way to do this will be by sharing the user's credentials with the Wolox team.
Access must be given to 2 different portals:
- Member Center: this is where you create the necessary configuration to deploy an application to production in the AppStore. The information here is only visible to the development team, users who download the application can not see the content created here, since it is only technical information.
- iTunes Connect (now called AppStore Connect): this is where the application is created so that users can download it later from AppStore. The content of the application is configured, from images, texts, etc. Test users are also given access during the development stage, and applications are sent to Apple for review so that they can later be downloaded to the general public from AppStore.

Access to Member Center
To give Wolox access to the Member Center, Member Center must be logged in with the credentials with which the user was created.
In the application's dashboard, you will see a screen similar to this: |
Add the user [email protected] as Admin, so that it has the permissions to carry out the necessary operations.
After this, you will receive an invitation to the email to enter the portal.

Access to iTunes Connect
To give Wolox access to iTunes Connect, you must log in to iTunes Connect with the credentials with which the user was created.
Fill the email with [email protected].
After completing the information confirm pressing “Next”.
In the next screen, choose "App Manager" role ("Admin" is necessary if Wolox is required to summarize App Analytics information about its customer use). This way the account will be enabled to make the necessary operations. It isn't necessary to restrict access to a particular app, so that Wolox can create the apps. (For more information on Roles and Permissions you can read Apple's documentation)
